and overhaul process. As a result, we have
effectively been able to control and reduce
turn times and increase component reliability.
Our support shops provide 24 hour service
to the internal shops of Avborne and work
within our rigorous quality standards.
Rewind
Shop
Our Rewind Shop is dedicated to the repair
and overhaul of electrical generators, stators,
rotors, armatures, field assemblies and
stator housings. Components are stripped,
rewound by hand then tested on manufacturer
test equipment. This delicate and time consuming
process is performed on site by a talented
and experienced rewind team. We also support
airlines that out-source their rewind requirements
on components such as Generators, Pumps,
CSD’s and IDG’s.
Machine
Shop
Our fully tooled Machine Shop allows us
to perform virtually all rework repairs
in-house, providing greater convenience
and more efficient service to our customers.
This approach allows us to significantly
reduce unit turn times and provide cost
savings, while assuring the highest degree
of quality.
Precision
machines include:
• Nardinni lathes
• Bridgeport milling machines
• and an array of supporting machinery
In-house
services include:
• non-destructive testing (NDT)
• magnetic particle and liquid penetrant
inspections to detect flaws and cracks in
metal parts
• Plasma spray and weld repairs; OEM/FAA
authorized repairs for resurfacing metal
parts and weld repairs of cracks and breaks.
• Honing and Sheffield Gauge Inspection
– sizing for complete rework of piston
block bores.
• Automatic and controlled surface
conditioning / Lapmaster.
